A few things worth knowing before we start.
Why not just use a proxy-buying service?+
If you already know the exact purchase URL, a low-cost proxy may be better. Japan Pen Hunt is for the harder step: identifying the pen, searching Japanese retailers, comparing availability and contacting stores.
Do you guarantee authenticity?+
No appraisal or authentication certification is offered. At launch we reduce risk by sourcing new and unused pens from official brands and established Japanese retailers and by reporting the seller and product details to you.
What if you cannot find it?+
The hunt fee covers the search work and is not refundable once the hunt begins. Standard requests move to a 30-day watch and Rare Hunt requests to a 60-day watch.
Do you buy the pen before I pay?+
No. We show you the viable match and quote first. We purchase in Japan after your product, sourcing and shipping payment is confirmed.
Who pays import duties or taxes?+
The customer is responsible for destination-country duties, taxes and customs charges unless the quote explicitly states otherwise.
